And I loved it! Thunder, lightning, and all!
Historically, it doesn’t really pour until June, but the rain-spirits seem to have scheduled their return a month earlier. It’s been really hot lately, so I’m not complaining.
Interestingly, tomorrow is my hometown’s 3-day fiesta. The real fiesta is on the 28th, but the 27th and 29th are dedicated to the karakól (devotional processional dance) for Mary Magdalene. Every year, her image is taken from her shrine in Kawit (a nearby town) to dance with her devotees who are praying for rain. Wait, Mary Magdalene as a goddess of rain? Well, I never said anything about biblical correctness.
